B8 Avants are very good looking wagons. I know you can't pick one up with a 6MT (booooo) but I do have a wagon itch, and the B8 is scratching it in the right spot.

Any owners/anyone have experience with them?

The "yes me" was for the aficionado. Got an S4..but whatever your question is...the answer is either "yes" or "do it"

I would like them a lot more if they came with DSG instead of a regular (tiptronic) automatic.

And actually you can't get a new one anymore. Audi USA ditched it for the allroad quattro.

Haha do you happen to know the tuning options for a B8 2.0t?

Wasn't looking at new, specifically looking at the 2011+ models though.

And how good/bad is the auto?

I think 3 trims... Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. If you want the cool Audi LEDs you must at least go with Prem Plus. If you want paddle shifters you need a at least a Prem Plus with S-line sport pkg. But the way to go is Prestige with S-line because then you get the RS4 style wheels and Alcantara sport seats.

Since the 2.0 TFSI in the B8 is very similar to the GTI motor I would imagine tuners like APR have stuff available. A friend of mine had an APR tuned MKV GTI had about 270hp...very quick car. If you can find Audiforlife he knows a ton. He posted a few "baits" for me earlier that I reposted to my blog so dig around there.

All I would reaaaally want is seats + lights. Wheels would eventually be switched out to RS4 OEM wheels anyways. Thanks!

Dunno, never driven one. I'd wager it's probably pretty decent.

I should point out, that I'm the kind of idiot who after 12 years of driving nothing but stick shift cars, decided I didn't feel like shifting for myself anymore. So I test drove a bunch of automatic cars, none of them really did it for me, and I ended up with a BMW 135is DCT.

If I were dead set on a wagon, I'd want it to have a mildly silly amount of power. So like, BMW 535xi or Audi A6 3.0T at minimum. I'd be more willing to take the automatic on those cars, because they've got another 100 hp over the A4.

Anyway. Enough about me. Because as we've already established, I'm dumb.

If you want a wagon, and after trying out an A4 you decide you like the thing, go for it. It's your money, spend it on what makes you happy.
